28 September 2016

The School achieves highest student satisfaction for the second year running

Manchester School of Theatre is the highest-ranked drama school in the National Student Survey (NSS) for the second consecutive year.

The School of Theatre scored an impressive 100% for student satisfaction, which places it above institutions such as Birmingham School of Acting and Drama Centre London that were ranked second and third respectively.

The School's score is also significantly higher than the UK average for drama schools, which is a student satisfaction ranking of 89%.

The NSS is a survey carried out by the Higher Education Funding Council England that asks final year undergraduates about their opinions of their university. Through the UK, 155 institutions have took part in the survey this year.

In reaction to the School's success David Shirley, Director of Manchester School of Theatre noted that the score was testament to the School's 'efforts to ensure that our students feel supported and enabled in their training.

It is very gratifying to know that this is welcomed and appreciated by them. The results are a tribute to the care and dedication shown by a highly motivated staff team, as well as to the support given by the faculty and university as a whole'.
