Our Country's Good
By Timberlake Wertenbaker
Directed by Chris Honer
Sorry, the Saturday performance is now sold out
Timberlake Wertenbaker's Our Country's Good is set in an 18th Century Australian penal colony. When Second Lieutenant Ralph Clark, sets out with a cast of convicts to stage a production of Farquhar's The Recruiting Officer, he encounters more challenges than he bargained for. An absorbing, comic and often very moving examination of the redemptive power of theatre in a society that is in its infancy, Wertenbaker's play is spellbinding from the very beginning.
